On Tuesday Wollundry had a vocational visit to Riverina Oils and BioEnergy (ROBE).  Pictured above are Production Manager Sanjay Patil and Chief Financial Officer Scott Whiteman.

ROBE crushes and refines over 165,000 tonnes of oilseeds per year through a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, sourcing raw materials from local farms, in order to produce world-class oils and vegetable protein meals.  ROBE has custom built a state-of-the-art integrated oilseed crushing and refining plant, making the project one of the largest value-added investments in the Agri-Food processing sector in regional Australia in the last 5 years.

Sanjay informs members of the systems automation of the plant. The main processing facilities encompass 4 large buildings containing automated systems running 24/7 turning seeds into pure oil, with only 4 staff overseeing the process.

The oils that are the finished product are transported in bulk containers within a large plastic bladder.  Laurie Blowes looks on.

Assisting members in the tour were Stephanie Turk and Caitlin Rynehart.
