PLEASE READ YOUR BULLETIN ONLINE
We are beginning to include advanced features into the Bulletin, which your email program may not be able to display. As an example, this weeks' bulletin has 4 embeded videos which you may not see.

To ensure that you see everything in the bulletin, I would advise all members to read the bulletin online.  To read the bulletin online, just click on the sentence that appears above the bulletin banner.  The link that starts with the question... "Having trouble viewing this email.?.." and then it gives you the online link..."click here to view online" .  Click on that link, above the banner, and you will see the best possible version of the bulletin.

Cheers,

Paul
Gears and Beers Triumph
Click on the Video below for a short Gears & Beers movie

The 2017 Gears and Beers can certainly be referred to as a triumph for Phil and Tim and the committee and the club.

Phil gave members a overview of the financial results and a heartfelt thank you to all the members for their dedication to the event.   He mentioned a few members by name.

1) Frank Fuller - he must have driven 1000km in the last 2 weeks picking up sponsor banners, and organising and packing nearly 1700 rider bags - unloading pallets of water and so much more.
2) Paul Murray - for the computerised rider bag pickup process programming - for his sleepless nights just brilliant.
3) Tim McGillicuddy   - for his calm organisation of the festival and getting all that gear to turn up on queue.
4) Dave Foster - nothing was a hassle - he was responsible for making the festival look as good as it did with signage that was first class. You don't see what he does in the background to make the signage workout on the roads. It's this stuff that makes everyone feel so safe.
5) David Byfield - organising and rostering 225 positions on the event was masterful.

Phil also recognised President Paul Milde, Geoff Breust and Jim Gibson for their hard work.

Phil noted that a lot of people in the Wagga Wagga community will be a lot better off because of the funds you all assisted in raising.

Presidents Report October 03
Another "Hillis Day" packed with plenty of fellowship. Thank you to Geoff Breust for chairing the meeting on 26th September in my absence.

What a weekend! Gears & Beer Festival 2017 one fantastic event. Thank you to all club members for a Top Team effort in putting on this great community event. Thank you to Phil McIntosh and his committee for the great work they have done. I'm going to claim a great community event presented by Wollundry Rotary Club.

Congratulations to our Bowling Team who competed in the Rotaract/Rotary Bowling Challenge. Some big scores by David, Richard and James. Also congratulations to Rick Priest and the Wagga Men's Shed for winning "Mens Shed of The Year." Congratulations John Smith in being made a Life Member of the Wagga Aero Club.

This Thursday we will be helping at "The Little Kids Big Day Out". Thank you to the nine members who volunteered to help at this community event.

Don't forget next week's meeting is a "Ladies Day" & "Hat Day". Burmo is our guest speaker.

Please don't forget to keep Geoff Hamilton in your thoughts and prays.

Thank you for your support. Have a great week!
Secretary's Report 04th Oct
Next Sprout and About Market 14th October.
Please check this weeks updated roster and advise your availability or otherwise in good time and confirm with me and your OIC David Hodge.

Fellows if you cannot make our meeting and you are unable to do a makeup at another Club, there are five other Clubs in WW plus an e-Club please try to register a makeup whenever you can after attending to committee meetings or some other activity when representing Wollundry. Our District Club attendance for July was only 62.24% which is below average.

November 21st Programme will be a Poets Day. Please see me if you are interested in presenting your favourite poem, piece of prose or some other short literary extract. We have 20 minutes to fill so first in best dressed. Your recital should be limited to four (4) minutes therefore will have room for five (5) performers.

Please keep an eye out for the Defribulator (AED) training Video that Paul Murray is loading up to a link on our Website and in our Bulletin for us all to look at and make ourselves familiar with. It will, in future, be on hand and display for use by our members should the need arise at one of our various events. Please make yourself familiar with it.

Our Meeting Oct 3rd
Wagga Mens Shed No 1 in Australia
Rick Priest apologised for missing the Gears and Beers last weekend.

He was attending a conference in the Gold Coast of all the Men's Sheds in Australia.  It was a special conference for Rick since he was the founding President of the Wagga Men's Shed  and the shed was voted Men's Shed of the Year.

The award is a national recognition with over 900 Men's Sheds in Australia.  Congratulations, Rick.

Notice Ricks Men's Shed Logo on his shirt.

Sergeant John Flynn
John started his fine session by fining Paul Murray for answering one of Johns computer questions using gobbly-dee-gook computer speak...(the fact is John wasn't listening).

He went on to fine a number of members for a number of things which I can't remember because I wasn't listening.

He did finish up with a couple good jokes.   He told of two Irishmen who bought a couple budgies from the pet store and went to a cliff top.  One tied the budgies to his ears and jumped off the cliff.  He went splat to the bottom.  The other Irishman observed this and decided not to take up budgee jumping.

John told another story about an Irishmen who jumped off a cliff Parrot shooting.....with similar results.

John is a significant contributer to the cultural and ethnic education of Wollundry members.  Well done John

Forrest Centre Golf Day

Doug Conkey came to the podium and spoke about the October 13 Forrest Centre Golf Day Fundraiser.  There will be a BBQ lunch followed by golfing and lots of Prizes.  Cost is $50 per head.
Seniors Dinner
Tuesday evening the gray haired members of the club and their partners gathered for the Annual Over 20's Dinner.  The black tie evening at the Riverine Club celebrated members with over 20 years service to Wollundry and the community.  To see a photo album of the evening...click on the picture.
