Our Meeting 1st may 2018
A very interesting vocational visit to Erin Earth, an environmental education center  located in the grounds of Mt Erin wagga wagga.
The center aims to teach and show the community how we can live sustainably in urban areas, grow produce locally and introduce water saving techniques.

The center is staffed by a loyal group of volunteer workers, plus management and
staff. They are registered as a non profit organisation with an overseeing board and it was originally started by the presentation sisters of wagga.

The Manager of the facility is Kaz Leary who is busy planning for a future where the centre becomes self supporting. The center currently has close links with
schools environment and science classes, as well as many community groups.

Most of the work is currently carried out by volunteers who come from community as well as teams from the corrective services department.

Sister Kay and assistant manager Tina Dejong

Board Member sister Carmel

Wollundry members enjoy an interesting walk through sustainable gardens and
food producing projects.

The Erin Earth center is funded for the next fifteen years by the Presentation Sisters of and then will be self supporting and wonderful experience for the local community.
