Tim Macgillycuddy Resignation

President Paul read off a very sincere and complimentary resignation letter from Tim Macgillycuddy. Tim is moving to Brisbane and gave a glowing and positive report of his experiences and involvement with Wollundry Rotary.

As the Editor of this week’s bulletin and Tim’s sponsor, I must say I am very proud to have been involved in bringing Tim into the club and he has been a significant contributor in both the Food and Wine and the Gears and Beers Festivals.  We wish Tim and Susan all the best in their future endeavors.

Fernanda deBarba Visit

Michael Knight came to the podium and gave a report about a returning exchange student from Brazil .. Fernanda deBarba.  Host parents were the Thomas, Cook, Hornibrooks and Watts. There was a social gathering to welcome Fernanda back to Wagga.  Michael said that Fernanda showed what an exchange student exhibits: confidence, personable and all things that we try to achieve through the program were very evident.

Shelter Box Letter

President Paul read out a letter from Shelter Box.  Shelter Box thanked Wollundry Rotary for contribution during 2016/2017.  Shelter Box has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for 2018.
John and Maria were active promoters of Shelter Box during John's year as DG.

Sergeant

Sergeant of Arms John Flynn came to the podium talked about H20 olives and warned members about biting down too hard....as they have very hard pits.  He broke a tooth one and is goint to have it pulled.  He was frustrated that there were no H2O members or dentists there to heavily fine.

John asked how many cockies were in the audience and why are they concerned about the Rail Trails.  He has been wondering what type of exotic crops that the farmers are trying to hide from Rail trail hikers.

Tim Macgillycuddy was accused of bailing to Brisbane to avoid explaining the new Recycling Industry processes and the Mayor was fined for being guilty by association.

John related an experience he had asking Paul Murray for computer help.  Paul remotely accessed John's computer and the problem resolution conversation between John and Paul. Gradually it turned into a problem resolution conversation between Annette and Paul, to which John was more than pleased to retire to watch an AFL game.  The problem was resolved.

John ended his sergeant session with two Irish jokes which received mixed and sympathetic applause.
