Presidents Report .

  • The District Group 7 Presidents get together last week committed volunteers for the Gears & Beers. There is a plan to get a Driver Simulator. More later.
  • The Royce Abbey Peace oration has been postponed
  • A combined Rotary Cinema will be held on September 24. The movie is Ride like a Girl. Tickets are $20 each. We have been given 50 tickets so we need to sell to our members and or friends for the event. See Bob Willis and Raol Mascarenhas. If you have any friends who would like tickets we have some left.
  • Last Thursday evening we took our BBQ trailer and cooked for the Clontarf Foundation at Harris Park. They were having a district sports day with Griffith, Tumut and Wagga attending. Five of our members assisted. More on the Clontarf Foundation will come from Neil Pinto.
  • The gears and beers is coming up quickly so please fill in the roster and get partners to fill gaps as well. Meetings are weekly on Wednesday’s at Commins Hendriks at 5.30pm.
  • Last night we had our monthly Board meeting. Important matters arise.
  • Subs are now due for those members who are not paying quarterly. Reminders have been sent. Please pay ASAP
  • Our Christmas is on December 8. The venue will be the home of Adrian and Rachel Whiting at “Spenlo” at Uranquinty. Directions will be given at a later date, however, our new bus driver Geoff Breust is offering to drive us to and from the event. Watch this space
  • This Saturday the Rotaract Club is holding their annual Ten Pin Bowling challenge. We need at least one team of three. Its at the Bowling Alley at 7pm this Saturday. David Benn, Frank Fuller and James Ross will make up one team. Any other members or family are invited. Please let James Ross know if you can make it.
  • We have a contract arrangement with the Commercial Club Caterer. They supply hot meals to us at $15 per meal and also charge us for the tea and coffee station and bread rolls. Some members acquire sandwiches at the counter and bring them in which is OK. We do not want members ordering hot meals from the kitchen and causing any disruption to the meeting.
  • When hooking up trailers it is desirable to have two people to hook up and check that trailers are correctly attached. That’s locking the tow bar onto the ball, fitting the chain and fitting the power lead. Then checking the blinkers and brake light. Better to check once or twice
  • We need an additional Bulletin Editor. We have four and would like an additional person to share the work.
