President’s Report 18thDecember 2018
 
There are no club meetings on Christmas day and New Year’s Day. First club meeting in the New Year will be held on the 8thJanuary 2019.
 
Michael Georgiou was discharged from hospital after 4 days in hospital last week. Our thoughts and prayers are with Michael and his family.
 
I had the pleasure to attend the Wagga Wagga High School presentation night held on the 13thDecember. Wollundry Rotary was mentioned three times in relation to Noel Barnes Scholarship awarded to deserving students. 
 
Past President Paul has elected to donate interest accumulated in 2017/18 period in general community account amounting to $1,931 to Australian Rotary Mental Health. 
 
Your Board met on 17thDecember and the following outcomes are noted:
  • Greg Conkey’s application for 85 Rule for attendance purposes was approved.
  • As in accordance with Rotary international and District guidelines that all club members need to have a Working with Children’s Check number. Administration Director is following up with two of our members on the matter.
  • A review of criteria for donations for projects to be conducted as in accordance with Club assembly recommendation.   
  • A review will be conducted on attendance requirements which are stated in the Club’s By Laws.
  • General Community account is quite healthy. Projects committee is waiting on fund requests for consideration.
  • In relation to RYPEN the Board approved $3,500 for funding of leadership programme for 2018 amounting to $1,500 and 2019 amounting to $2,000. The amount is within the Youth Directorate budget which was approved by the club at the commencement of the financial year.
  •  Tent hire request from District for use at District Conference on the 29thMarch 2019 was declined due to various reasons emanating from past use of the tents.
  • In relation to Rotaract meetings we will seek a timetable of their meetings for the 1sthalf of 2019 so that one our club members can attend their meetings to provide support. Youth Director is seeking activity reports from Rotaract on a monthly basis.
